Vinyl is our biggest passion. The walls of the City are laden with current, vintage and second hand releases from bands covering the whole broad church of Metal. In addition to vinyl, we stock CDs and cassettes also.

Launched in 2020 and opening its doors in 2021, Black City Records is a record store run by metalheads, for metalheads. We are vinyl and audio enthusiasts who bring our knowledge of metal and hi-fi together. It's our passion!

One of only two dedicated traditional Heavy Metal record shops in the UK we have become a place renowned for discovering and buying music from a range of independent and major labels. If we do not have what you are looking for in stock then we can probably source it for you - no matter how rare. Just ask...

We are also specialists in Death Metal with nearly 40 years experience.

We are located on Trenchard Street (at the junction of Lodge Street) in Bristol city centre right behind the Bristol Beacon, 100 metres from our friends at the renowned Metal pub - The Gryphon, and a short walk from the O2 Academy venue and the iconic Hatchet Inn.
